Local artisan shops in Pensacola, FL

If you are looking for some beautiful and quality artisan pieces in Pensacola, FL then you need to check out Bia's Sublime Tea & Artisan Workshop and Gallery Zaragossa.  Both located in the beautiful Historical District of downtown.  Both of these lovely ladies are working hard to bring local art to the community.  Bia's will be offering sewing classes soon and I'll get to be one of the instructors!

I am blessed to have pieces in both shops.  Take the time to check them out and see what great items they have to offer!

Teapot Wrap Cozy helps to keep your organic tea nice and warm.

Hand loomed and beaded Native American jewelry.

So next time you are looking for something to do - take the time to go to the downtown Historical District and check out the great shops.

Oceans Blue Handbag

If you are an avid sewer like I am then you probably have all kinds of fabric scraps laying around just patiently waiting to be put to use.  Today I decided to do just that.  I am so delighted how this stylish handbag turned out!  Gorgeous array of blues that makes me think of the ocean.  Bamboo handles help tie it all in.  I'm sure you can imagine I'm looking at my stash of scraps a bit closer now!  LOL

You can find this handbag for sale on my Etsy site at http://www.etsy.com/shop/Blackkatkreations.  There will be more coming in all different colors and shapes I'm sure!  :)

Custom made eReader Covers for Nooks, Kindles and iPads!

If you have seen the eReader covers offered in the bookstores you will be a bit depressed.  The price they are asking for boring covers is crazy!  To be honest, I'd be happy to pay that price for something that has more personality to it, or can be customized with my name on it.  Something that I can pick the patterns and colors to my liking.  Well here you can find just that!  If you don't see a fabric you like - just email me here and I can see if I can find what you are looking for.  Let's face it - I'm a fabric addict and have a very large stash - it just takes time to get them all posted.  No matter what your style and tastes are - I'm sure I can make it happen.  Visit my shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/Blackkatkreations  for your custom made eReader cover today!

Spring Splash Placemat, Napkin and Napkin Ring

I thought this would be a great sewing lesson since they really are easy to put together and pretty quick to do as well.  Matching placemat, napkin and napkin ring with big flower.  Done up in wonderful bright spring colors this would be wonderful to brighten up your meal!  Even this setting makes my chipped plates look good!  LOL

Coiled Fabric Coffee Cup

Well here's my latest design idea.  This one kept me up tossing and turning all night long so I just HAD to make it and see if it turned out as cute as it was in my head.  I have to say it DID and then some!  I am very pleased with this.  Such a cheerful and funky design.  My next thought was to turn it into a pin cushion as well.  Hmmmmmm

Sewing classes starting soon!

I'm so excited!  I'm going to be teaching sewing soon at a new local business that specializes in teas and coffees. What a wonderful concept!  Of course I'm a bit nervous over this new adventure since I've never taught how to sew before but I'm sure it will all work out well.  Like a friend recently told me, "They won't know if you mess up or not, so all will be fine."  How true!  LOL  This will be a learning lesson for students and teacher alike.

If you are in the Pensacola, FL area come and check out this cute little shop and see what's for sale by the local artisans.  Maybe even take a sewing class as well!  Here's a wonderful article written up about the shop called "You're Invited to a Tea Party".

Pegboard Thread Holder

My darling hubby made this pegboard thread holder for my wall the other day.  Isn't he wonderful!!!  I was using shelves and baskets, which was a pain searching for the color I needed when doing any embroidery work.  Now I can look at my wall and find just what I need, grab and go!  How cool is this!!!!  Thanks hubby!

Fabric Coiled Baskets

I've gotten bored with making all those Japanese lantern quilt blocks and needed a break from them so..........I decided to try my hand at some fabric coiled baskets.  Since I'm going by the seat of my pants on this I don't think I did too bad for my first try.  It was so much easier than I expected it to be as well!  I'll have to work on a youtube video of this soon so everyone can see how easy it is.  Don't be surprised to see some of these popping up for sale on my etsy site at http://www.etsy.com/shop/Blackkatkreations.
